Exciting new products from Control4 for 2012

We’ve barely kicked off this year before Control4 announced some juicy new products for us to look forward to working with. First off are the new controllers which Control4 claim offer faster processors within their repackaged exterior and an all new HDMI outputs. The HC250 is the new room-based controller with a 1GHz processor and 2 audio outputs (one analog, one using the HDMI port) along with 4 IR ports. The HC800 has a whopping 1.8GHz processor along with 2 serial ports, 4 audio outputs and 6 IR ports. The HC800 will be available in February 2012 whilst dates on the HC250 will be confirmed within the next few months. Both units have improved ZigBee and WiFi along with external antennas on the HC800 for improved wireless coverage.
Another product due to be launched is the 7″ portable unit with integrated camera. These can be used in conjunction with the Control4 in-wall touch screens and their soon-to-be-released doorstation to give full two-way audio and video communication between devices. The unit can be configured as a true portable or as a tethered tabletop for flexible installation.
This takes us nicely to the Control4 Doorstation which offers full-motion video intercom and the wideband audio intercom for crystal-clear communications and video security throughout a home. The Door Station comes in 3 stylish colors—Satin Nickel, Satin Black and Venetian Bronze—and provides audio and video intercom communications with the Control4 7” In-Wall Touch Screen with Camera and the new Control4 7” Portable Touch Screen with Camera.

All of the new products can be integrated into existing Control4 systems with version 2.0 software and above.
