Home Automation Systems

We can provide home automation installation and other AV solutions.
Smart home automation is all about bringing simplicity back into your life. It allows you to control all of your property’s electronic systems from one source via an easy-to-use handheld remote or a wall-mounted touch pad. It means you no longer have to traipse around your house deactivating the home security alarm, closing curtains and blinds, control lighting, music or TV appliances. It can all be done by remote control at the touch of a button.
What can Home Automation systems control?
Automation within rooms such as cinema rooms makes life so much easier. Having multiple remote controls to switch on the amplifier, DVD player, projector, Sky box, projector screen and dim lighting can be a pain. By automating the whole room and by selecting a single action on your controller (wireless or wall-mounted), the room can spring into life with all the equipment switching on or in the case of lighting automatically adjusting to a preset level which suits your viewing needs. You could for instance set a mode for watching DVD’s, sport or general TV watching for which you may want to have different lighting and or audio settings.
Home Cinema Automation

Automating your home cinema room eliminates the need for multiple remote controls and hardware. With one simple action the room springs to life – the lights dim, the TV screen awakens and your film is ready to go. What ever you want, you can pre-programme into your remote. For example, you can have modes for watching sport, news, films, gaming or general TV, alongside customised lighting and volume settings for each mode.
Curtain, blind and vision control

Again, pre-programmed settings mean your curtains and blinds will open and close automatically as and when you want them to. You can even install vision-control glass (see images below).
Heating and Lighting Control

Your heating and lighting can also be included as part of a home automation package, meaning the temperature and lighting inside can be set according to the weather conditions outside. You can control it yourself, or it can be programmed so they adjust automatically.
Control Options

Until recently, wall mounted control pads were the most common way to manage home automation systems. Now, though, remote handheld devices are becoming more common as wireless networks become increasingly stable. They can also control the system without having to be ‘in the line of sight’ of the equipment. Wall mounted devices are still available for those who prefer them. A number of home automation systems can be controlled via Apple’s iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, although licensing fees apply.
