Multi-Room Audio & Lighting Control

This period property on the outskirts of York presented us with a number of challenges when considering what to install in terms of technology  - its sheer size and its two-foot thick walls! With parts of the house being Grade 2 listed, we were unable approach it as a ‘blank canvas’ and used a blend of wired to provide the customer with their desired outcome including multi-room audio distribution and lighting control.

Working with the client and our interior design partners, we came up with a multi-room system which works seamlessly with the decor, from the disctete Monitor Audio speakers, to the brass Rako light switch plates which matched the existing electrical fittings.

Because of the age of the property, a great deal of thought and investigation had to be given to ensure that what was specified could actually perform as the customer intended. Using wireless technology from Rako for the lighting and Sonos for the audio, we were able to control the stunning light fittings, creating scenes as well as distributing the customers music collection to the specified rooms.

The end result compliments the home, retaining all the original features while adding an element of technology.
