Control4 Smart Home Installation
Certified Control4 Dealer for over 15 years. New installations, system takeovers and long-term support.
We’ve been a Certified Control4 Dealer for over 15 years — one of the longest-standing Control4 partnerships in the UK. We design, install and programme Control4 systems for homes across Yorkshire, Cheshire and London, from single-room media setups to whole-home automation covering lighting, heating, audio, security, cinema and networking.
Control4 is the platform we recommend most often because it delivers genuine whole-home control at a price point that suits a wide range of homes and budgets — without compromising on reliability or capability.
What Control4 does
Control4 brings every system in your home under one interface — a touchscreen, a handheld remote, keypads on the wall, or the app on your phone. Instead of separate apps for lighting, heating, music, TV and security, everything responds to one set of scenes:
- “Good morning” — blinds open, lights come up gently, heating adjusts, radio plays in the kitchen
- “Film night” — lights dim, screen lowers, projector fires up, surround sound activates
- “Goodnight” — lights off, doors locked, heating down, security armed
- “Away” — everything off, security on, cameras active, lights simulate occupancy
The technology disappears. You interact with your home, not with the system.
What we install
Whole-home Control4 systems Lighting, heating, blinds, audio, video, security, CCTV, networking, intercom and door entry — all on a single Control4 platform. We design the system around how you live, not around the technology.
Multi-room audio and video Music and video in every room, controlled independently or together. Stream from Spotify, Apple Music, radio or your own library to any room — or all of them.
Lighting integration Control4 integrates with Lutron for dedicated lighting control, or can manage lighting directly for smaller installations.
Networking A reliable network is the foundation every Control4 system depends on. We design and install commercial-grade wired and wireless networks as part of every project.
Home cinema and media rooms Control4 is the backbone of most of our home cinema installations. One button starts a film — dimming the Lutron lighting, lowering the screen, powering the projector and selecting the source.
Control4 system takeovers and repairs
Many of our clients come to us with a Control4 system that was installed by another company and never finished properly — or one that worked well once but hasn’t been maintained or updated. This is one of the most common enquiries we receive, and we’re well placed to help.
What we see most often:
- Systems that were left half-programmed by the original installer
- Programming that’s confusing, unreliable or missing features the client was promised
- Hardware that’s failing or obsolete and needs replacing
- Systems where the original installer has gone out of business or stopped responding
- Clients who’ve moved into a home with an existing Control4 system and don’t know how to use it
What we do: We start with a full system audit — we log into the existing Control4 system, assess the hardware, review the programming, test every function and identify what’s working and what isn’t. We then give you a clear, written report with three options:
- Repair and reprogramme — fix what’s there. Update the software, rebuild the programming, replace any failing hardware, and hand the system back to you working properly.
- Upgrade — keep the core infrastructure but upgrade processors, touchscreens or remotes to current-generation equipment. This is often the best value route if the wiring and basic hardware are sound.
- Replace — in some cases, a full system replacement is more cost-effective than patching an ageing installation. We’ll tell you honestly if that’s the case.
We don’t charge for the initial assessment conversation. Call us or get in touch and describe what’s happening — we’ll tell you whether we can help before anyone visits site.
Ongoing support and maintenance
A Control4 system needs looking after — software updates, programming adjustments as your household changes, and occasional hardware attention. We offer two levels of ongoing support:
Pay-as-you-go support Call or email when you need us. We diagnose remotely where possible and visit when necessary. Billed at a straightforward day rate with no retainer.
Maintenance agreement An annual contract covering:
- Priority response — your calls go to the front of the queue
- Annual system health check — we log in remotely, update software, check hardware status and flag anything that needs attention before it fails
- Remote programming changes — scene adjustments, new device additions, seasonal updates
- Discounted on-site rates for any work beyond the agreement
A maintenance agreement is particularly valuable for larger systems, second homes (where problems may go unnoticed) and clients who want the reassurance of proactive monitoring rather than waiting for something to break.
Why choose us for Control4
15+ years as a Certified Dealer — we’ve worked with every generation of Control4 hardware and software. There isn’t a system configuration we haven’t seen.
Award-winning Control4 integrators — in 2019 we won Control4’s global Best Whole-Home Project award for our Granite Smart Home installation, featured on HiddenWires. In 2015 we were recognised with Control4’s MVP Award for our dedication to the platform, ongoing training and long-term client support. These are global awards — not regional, not UK-only.
We also programme Crestron and KNX — which means we can give you genuinely independent advice. If Control4 isn’t the right platform for your project, we’ll tell you — and explain why Crestron or KNX might suit better.
We design, install and support — the same team handles the project from the first conversation through to ongoing maintenance. No subcontractors, no handoffs, no “that’s not our department.”
Yorkshire, Cheshire and London — based at Thorp Arch near Wetherby with a dedicated London team led by our Managing Director, South.
Whether you need a new Control4 system, help with an existing one, or long-term support you can rely on — we’d like to hear from you
Control4 FAQ
How much does a Control4 system cost?
It depends on the size of the home and what you want the system to control. A single-room media system might start from around £5,000. A whole-home system covering lighting, heating, audio, security and cinema typically ranges from £15,000 to £60,000+. We provide a clear specification and price at the design stage.
Can you take over a Control4 system installed by someone else?
Yes — this is one of our most common enquiries. We audit the existing system, identify what’s working and what isn’t, and give you clear options for repair, upgrade or replacement.
What's the difference between Control4 and Crestron?
Both are professional-grade platforms. Control4 suits a wide range of homes well at a strong price-to-performance ratio. Crestron is typically specified for the largest or most demanding installations. We install both and will recommend the right one for your project.
Do I need to rewire for Control4?
Not necessarily. New builds and full renovations allow the cleanest wiring, but Control4 offers wireless options for existing homes.
Can I add to my Control4 system later?
Yes — Control4 is designed to expand. Most clients add rooms or features over time.
Do you offer remote support?
Yes — many issues can be diagnosed and fixed remotely. We log into your system, identify the problem and resolve it without a site visit where possible.
