About Inspire Audio Visual
We’re a team of six — designers, engineers and project managers — based at Thorp Arch Estate near Wetherby. We design and install home cinemas, lighting and smart home systems for homes across Yorkshire, Cheshire and London.
We’ve been doing this for over 15 years. In that time we’ve held Lutron Gold Dealer status, been certified Control4 dealers, qualified Crestron programmers and accredited KNX system designers. Our work has been featured in Home Cinema Choice and recognised with multiple industry awards.
What we’re not is a large company with a sales team and a call centre. The people you meet at the start are the people who design, install and support your system. That’s deliberate — it’s how we keep the quality consistent and the relationship direct.
What we do
Three things, done properly:
Lighting design and control — as a Lutron Gold Dealer, we design scene-based lighting schemes and produce AutoCAD drawings for your electrician.
Home cinema — dedicated cinema rooms and media spaces, designed, calibrated and finished to a reference standard.
Smart home systems — whole-home control on Control4, Crestron or KNX, bringing lighting, heating, audio, security and entertainment under one reliable interface.
Most of our projects bring all three together.
The Team
Richard Savage
Operation Manager
Over 20 years of hands-on technical expertise across smart home, cinema, lighting and networking. Richard manages the delivery of every project — from first-fix wiring through to final commissioning and calibration. Whether it’s a compact media room or a multi-floor super-prime installation, he applies the same meticulous standards.
Jonathan Apaloo
Managing Director
Jonathan leads the business, from strategic direction to client relationships. He oversees every project from initial enquiry through to handover, ensuring the standard is consistent whether it’s a single cinema room or a whole-home system across multiple floors. Based at our Yorkshire headquarters
Hannah Davies
Financial Director
AAT qualified with over a decade of experience in business operations. Hannah manages the financial and administrative side of the business — from project costing and invoicing to supplier relationships and compliance. She keeps the business running so the technical team can focus on the work.
Ben Davies
Creative DIrector
Ben founded Inspire Audio Visual’s lighting design practice, drawing on 20 years of experience across the smart home industry — from hands-on system design and installation to the specialist residential lighting work developed under Design by Light. Today he leads client relationships, creative direction and lighting design, combining technical depth with a designer’s eye for how light transforms a home.
Kaushal Gajjar
Design Associate & Aftercare
Over 10 years in the industry, Kaushal is our lead CAD specialist — producing the AutoCAD lighting layouts, circuit plans and system drawings that underpin every project. He also leads our home cinema calibration work and manages ongoing aftercare for existing clients, ensuring systems continue to perform long after installation.
James Winnister
Managing Director South
With 20 years in the London construction industry, James has delivered technology installations for some of the most prestigious developers and luxury brands in prime central London. He leads our London operations — from Chelsea and Kensington to Belgravia and Mayfair — bringing project management discipline, attention to detail and established relationships with London’s leading developers and design practices.
Where we work
Based at Thorp Arch Estate near Wetherby, we work across three regions:
Yorkshire — our home territory. Leeds, York, Harrogate and the surrounding area, with our workshop and demonstration suite minutes away.
Cheshire & Manchester — Alderley Edge, Hale, Wilmslow and the wider Cheshire belt, where some of our most ambitious projects are delivered.
London — prime central London, led by James Winnister. Chelsea, Kensington, Belgravia, Knightsbridge and Mayfair, working alongside London’s leading developers and interior designers.
