Attic Home Cinema York
Our client approached us looking to transform an unused attic into a comfortable, high-performance home cinema the whole family could enjoy. The brief was for a simple-to-use system with exceptional audio and picture quality, while also complementing the unique architecture of the loft space.
Working from the design stage, we created a full Inspire Audio Visual cinema solution built around a 3.0m acoustically transparent screen, Epson 4K laser projection, and a Klipsch THX speaker system. The room was fully treated using fabric-wrapped acoustic panels, LED backlit features, and low-glare downlighting to create a warm, immersive environment ideal for movie nights and sports.
To deliver a true cinematic audio experience, we installed Klipsch THX in-wall LCR speakers, THX surround channels, and in-ceiling Atmos speakers, paired with an SVS SB3000 in-wall subwoofer and calibrated through an Anthem MRX 1140 AV receiver. This provides powerful, accurate sound throughout the seating area while remaining discreet within the room design.
Every element of the cinema—projection, audio, lighting and sources—is controlled via Control4, allowing the family to start the entire room with a single button. Behind the scenes, a dedicated rack, Ubiquiti networking and Furman power conditioning ensure long-term reliability.
The finished cinema has quickly become the most-used room in the house, turning an awkward attic into a comfortable and stylish entertainment space
