Project Overview

An exceptional penthouse above the Minster

In a celebrated collaboration with Kudus Design and Pennygate Developments, we are proud to present our latest project at Biba House — a stunning penthouse apartment in the heart of York, with direct views over the illuminated Minster. Working alongside Californian lighting design practice Illum Lighting Design, our goal was to bring their sophisticated scene-based lighting vision to life through a whole-home Lutron RadioRA 3 installation, whilst delivering a reference-grade home cinema experience worthy of the space.

The result is a seamless integration of intelligent lighting control and Dolby Atmos surround sound — all concealed within a breathtaking oak-clad interior that demanded zero visual compromise, and culminating in a system we are proud to be putting forward for a global Lutron excellence award.

Whole-home intelligent lighting control using the Lutron RadioRA 3 platform — the latest generation of Lutron’s flagship residential system. Programmed to the specification of Illum Lighting Design’s California-based scheme, delivering curated scenes across every space in the apartment.

Home Cinema

A Dolby 7.1.2 Atmos surround configuration using Gallo Acoustics — a uniquely discrete hi-fi brand whose compact spherical speakers can be RAL-coloured to match the interior exactly. Driven by a Marantz Cinema 70S receiver and anchored by a 75″ LG OLED television, the system delivers reference cinema performance with zero visual footprint.
